A great family play
A Christmas Carol is a holiday family classic and this is a wonderful rendition. May be scary for the little ones when the ghost first comes out with a bang and a hooded in black (a couple were indeed crying). But for the middle aged and older kids or if they know to expect it, it can be fine. The venue is charming and intimate without being small. The cast is well-seasoned and enchanting. The staging is versatile and effective. The Q & A at the end was lovely. I would definitely come again this year or another year. The price is really fabulous, also. I only wish there had been a program because I enjoyed the actors so much.
Perfect for young families
Take my review with a grain of salt. My husband and I do not have kids, and the audience was full of kids and young families. Therefore a lot of crying babies and kids. I suppose it should be expected at a 1pm performance, so I'm not too hung up on this.
Having watched other Christmas Carol plays, this one is pretty good. It is just over an hour, so not a long performance. Thought the actors were pretty good and enjoyed the performance overall. If you do have kids, this is perfect! If not, may want to consider a different performance.
